In Argentina the keyword “2001” does not signify the attacks of “9/11”.
For most Argentinians “2001” stands for the high peak of inflation and

economic crisis, through which a lot of middle class people lost money and savings.
In both countries, Argentina and USA “2001” marks a national trauma.
2001 Buenos Aires / New York takes a look at the absurd (self) defense strategies
both countries have developed to protect themselves in the post-crises.

2001 Buenos Aires / New York brings together video material and found objects
that I gathered during longer stays in both metropolises last year, 6 years after the crises.
