Flaggfabrikken presenterer YOU CAN TAKE THE ARTIST OUT OF ICELAND BUT YOU CAN´T TAKE ICELAND OUT OF THE ARTIST
torsdag 4. desember 2008 kl. 21:00 på Landmark
We have invited The Icelandic Love Corporation to curate an Icelandic video art program on how the strong personality of an isolated society interacts with real time interventions, like Internet and cheap air tickets. We encouraged the ILC to present video works that deals with themes like periphery, globalization, identity and nature from artists living in, and outside Iceland. We suggested a minimum of 10 artists.
The Icelandic Love Corporation has invited following artists:
Sigurður Gudjónsson -http://www.sigurdurgudjonsson.net/
Magnús Sigurðarson -http://www.hardcoreartcontemporary.com/magnus.html
Hekla Dögg Jónsdóttir -http://this.is/hekla/
Ásmundur Ásmundsson -http://this.is/ausgot/
Ásdis Sif Gunnarsdóttir -http://www.asdissifgunnarsdottir.com/
Unnur Andrea Einarsdóttir – http://this.is/subaqua/unnur.html
Mundi vondi / Moms – http://www.mundivondi.net/
María Dalberg – http://www.myspace.com/majadalberg
Ragnar Kjartansson – http://this.is/rassi/
Björk Viggósdóttir -http://bjorkbjork.blogspot.com/
Linda Loeskow – http://this.is/linlo/
The Icelandic Love Corporation is coming to Bergen to introduce and screen their selection of Icelandic video art. The topic feels even more relevant now as their country also embodies the severe consequences of the world´s economic recession, so we have asked them to comment on that as well.
We have also invited the Icelandic band FM Belfast to perform a live concert.
NB! NB! Videoprogrammet vil også bli vist på Fotogalleriet i Oslo søndagen den 7 desember
