Evenement: Åpent Forum Presents Kristian Øverland Dahl

Kristian Øverland Dahl works with a variety of mediums including; video, painting, prints, drawing, writing, sculpture and collaborative performative works. He is dealing with religious and political rhetoric, examining the idea of cultural consensus and challenging intellectual denial. In his “museum” Dahl is juxtaposing contemporary art practises with more primitive modes of work to make an interplay that seeks to reveal confusion in the world and within the art institution itself. Dahl subscribes to the idea that fine art (with its tools) is engaged in the process of programming or even re-programming the future and that art; it´s tentacles reaching into all parts of life, exposes multi-layered paradoxes to it´s recipiants. As “All art is good” (Odd Nerdrum), Dahl also wants to be good. “To me art has to un-convince, to the best of it´s ability”.

Åpent Forum er en serie med forelesninger, presentasjoner og samtaler med kunstnere initiert og arrangert av Kunstakademiet i Oslo. Åpent Forum finner normalt sted hver mandag kl 19.00 i auditoriet i St. Olavsgt. 32, og er åpent for alle som er interessert, også utenfor Kunstakademiet.
