17:00 Les glaneurs et la glaneuse (The Gleaners and I) (2000) by Agnès Varda (82 minutes)

An intimate, picaresque inquiry into French life as lived by the country’s poor and its provident, as well as by the film’s own director, Agnes Varda. The aesthetic, political and moral point of departure for Varda are gleaners, those individuals who pick at already-reaped fields for the odd potato, the leftover turnip.

12 Studies on Shit is a video essay divided in 12 short films. Furu exemplifies our relation to waste, dirt and shit, from a personal level to a social perspective.

21:30 Radio (2007) by Bodil Furu (High Definition Video, 4 minutes)

The short story takes place in a radio studio a few minutes before a live interview. A female radio host tries to calm down a nervous young man. A discussion starts. In a moment of self-doubt his insecurity takes over, while the radio host tries to convince him otherwise.

21:45 OPERA (2008), by Bodil Furu (35mm film, 12 minutes)

In Opera, Bodil Furu captures the atmosphere from behind the scenes in Norway’s first national opera house as the country holds its breath for the much anticipated opening of its replacement.

22:15 Nullpunkt (2009), by Bodil Furu (High Definition, 19 minutes)

The short film Nullpunkt (zero) investigates various forms of discontent in a society in which our globalized world-view spawns doubts about lasting peace or increasing chaos, and in which white fear and environmental problems are growing at a steadily increasing rate. Fear of an uncertain future and frustration at the current political situation do not give rise to stable narratives.
