Exhibition 2: Catalina Niculescu - Homesickness for the Scenes

[Bilde]
Niculescu uses architectural structures as instruments for exploring human activities, the current transformation of our natural environment and the evolution of urban habitats. Her work describes both the geometric exactitude of constructed spaces as well as the abstraction expressed in how these structures are actually used. The mutual experiences she shares with the history of other people who have lived in and shaped her chosen environments creates an immensely dense yet focused historical network of urban theories and design.

The exhibition will include several floor-to-ceiling structures based on metabolic principles, a collection of found post-cards, and a performance with slide projections. In addition to her exhibited work Niculescu has curated three nights of experimental film and video screenings. These screenings include the work of artists David Orme, David de Tscharner, Francesca Anfossi, Hank Schmidt in der Beek, Margarita Myrogianni, Mireille Blanc, Rebecca Stephany, Takuto Sawada, Tina Kohlmann, Tina Schott, as well as three of Niculescu’s own video works.
