Utstilling: Preben Holst
søndag 13. april 2014 kl. 12:00 på The Boiler Room og to andre tidspunkter
For more than a decade, Holst has devoted his photographic practise in capturing youths and the painful process of forming an identity, achieving self-realisation and belonging in the world of adolescence. Holst’s photographic subjects become exponents of an existence which does not necessarily represent their persons, but which none the less is a part of universal experiences of childhood and puberty. Through long continuous series of portraits, some carefully prepared and staged, while others taken spontaneously from uneasy strangers in public spaces, Holst allows us to take part of narratives emotionally charged with all the longing and uncertainty of growing up. These stories often balance finely between being strangely idyllic and eerily disturbing at the same time.
The exhibition will consist of photographs, Polaroids and a video work.
