Oslo Writers' League 2nd Anthology Book Launch

OWL Director Zoe Harris started the group in 2012. The group began with approx. 5 members and within one year, grew to over 100 online members and 15-20 attending monthly meetings. OWL members are from around the world, writing everything from poetry to novels to non-fiction and short stories.

In May 2013, OWL launched the first anthology at Cafe Fedora in Frogner. The anthology was titled “North of the Sun, South of the Moon” and all contributors wrote pieces along two themes: Adaptation and North. With the initial launch having approximately 75 attendees and book sales raising over 7000 NOK for our fellow charity, Utdanningshjelpen, we feel very fortunate.

Our 2014 Anthology is titled “All the Ways Home” and addresses the themes of “Identity” and “Crossroads”, themes chosen upon by the group as a whole. The number of contributors has more than doubled, showing our immense growth in one year.

The publishing house is called “Grimbold Books”, established in 2013. Grimbold is based in the UK and publishes primarily science fiction, fantasy and dark literary fiction. This year, they have graciously chosen to support the Oslo Writers’ League and everything the group does to raise money for Utdanningshjelpen. Grimbold provides all services related to the production of the anthologies at no cost and we take no royalties from sales.
