Lawrence Arabia is the pseudonym of James Milne, one of New Zealand’s pre-eminent singer-songwriters and producers. His most recent work, “The Sparrow,” an album of noir-tinged chamber pop, was released on Bella Union in 2012 and won the New Zealand
Music Award (Tui) for Best Male Solo Album. At Sound of Mu, Lawrence will be joined by his compatriot and collaborator, multi-instrumentalist Ryan McPhun, who makes music under the name The Ruby Suns.
