About The Dirty Art: A Celebration of Norwegian Street Art, Vol 2–
.
Tired of having to use your over-worked body to walk all the way to an art gallery? Are you fed up with being asked to conform your opinions of art to a hoity-toity gallery’s single-minded representation? Are you just sick of all the bull shit?
.
Then come down to Blank Space for their annual Dirty Art exhibition, where we celebrate street art’s amazing ability to bring art directly to you! Now including no entrance fee, no judgments, and no nonsense.
.
In this second edition of the already popular show we welcome artists such as Martin Whatson, Atle Østrem, Stayone KD, Stein, Hama, Argus, Fredrik Åsen, Martin Mauseth Hvattum and more. Don’t expect any high-priced, elitist art on these walls – each artist will be painting work directly onto the walls of the gallery itself to avoid any kind of financial expectation from the audience. In this way, no matter who walks in through the front door, every viewer can experience the pieces as its meant to be seen: as a form of cultural expression and not a contest for the most expensive piece. Have money to spare? Wonderful! We will still be selling pieces off-wall for those who wish to purchase work of the artists exhibiting.
.
Alongside this exhibition Blank Space will be working with the local Oslo community to offer free or low-cost workshops on the art of stencils and spray in the urban environment.
.
Please email [email protected] for all inquiries, and to pre-reserve pieces available for purchase.

About Blank Space
.
Blank Space is an artist run facility that strives to fill the gaps present in the art world today, from artist to buyer as well as artwork to audience. They strive to open back up the transference of ideas from outsiders and strike down the exclusivity of art. While currently functioning primarily as a gallery that focuses on contemporary applications of traditional skills, they also offer workshops and classes to anyone, beginner or master, wanting to understand the craft better. In the future, they hope to expand to offer a full printing / painting studio to the public, as well as offer full-time courses in various fields of art. They will host discussions, lectures, and special exhibits from special artists across the world.
.
They are located 5 minutes from Oslo S by bus, in the up and coming district of Kværnerbyen.
