Ostgut Ton’s Ten-year legacy will be making its way to Jæger this December with a line-up that encapsulates the spirit of a label and a venue that stands as the concrete Mecca of clubbing today, Berghain. The show will be in support of the Ostgut Ton Zehn compilation and will include six Berghain and Panorama Bar residents over two days. Norman Nodge, Etapp Kyle, nd_baumecker, Nick Höppner, Tama Sumo and Efdemin represents the past, present and future of this iconic establishment and all bring a little something unique to their DJ sets and their releases. Besides Efdemin, all the artists on the bill have been residents at the iconic clubbing institution since its inception in 2004, with nd_baumecker and Nick Höppner’s experience tracing a lineage all the way back to Ostgut, Berghain’s predecessor, where Höppner first planted the seeds for the label, Ostgut Ton. This sonic outlet has been the universal voice for the venue for ten years to date and a “musical haven for Berghain and Panorama bar’s residents”. It’s a label that transcends trend, visiting the disparate corners of dance music’s history to bring something eclectic, yet unique to the world of House and Techno. It’s an attitude that’s invariably reflected in these DJ sets and the reason why they are some of the world’s most revered DJs amongst the peers.

Norman Nodge will often pick on Detroit and Techno influences in an effort to “make people dance without walking on trodden paths of recent trends”. Techno is at the heart of much of what he, and the label does, concurrent with the overall aesthetic of the Berghain experience, and while Nodge will bring the harder edge of the genre, Höppner find a balance through a more melodic approach.Etapp Kyle represerents the latest talent to emerge of the iconic venue and, like Nodge prefers the more abrasive coreners of dance music. But it’s very rarely exclusively all about Techno for these artists/DJ’s and the label, and Panorama Bar has been the lynchpin for residents like Tama Sumo to explore the divergent corners of the dance floor. Tama Sumo’s House-focussed sets are her way of communicating with her audience, without the use of her vocal chords. They exhibit a focus on flow, mood and atmosphere, and you would never be too surprised to find a Techno or Electro track cropping up in her sets. This variable aptitude is probably most perfectly embodied in nd_baumecker, whose eclectic persuasions have astounded Jæger’s audiences in the past, and will look to most certainly repeat the feat when they all head our way on the 17th and 18th of December. they’ll be joined by Jæger residents DJ Nuhhh, g-Ha and Olanskii.
