Ben UFO (Hessle Audio) and Lena Willikens (Cómeme) return to Jæger to join us in our basement for a night of eclectic selections. Both DJs bring a diverse and esoteric musical knowledge to their sets and have often on occasion shared the decks, with amazing results.

Lena Wliikens has been the long-standing resident in charge of Friday nights at Düsseldorf’s legendary club/bar Salon Des Amateurs. She’s been a card carrying member of Cómeme records, with her “Sentimental Flashback” radio show on the label’s radio channel, known for her impressive musical tastes and avant-garde selections. Lena is never committed to one style, all is welcome as long as it is twisted the in a one-of-a-kind way. As a producer she’s released on Cómeme and Slowboy records, and her talents even stretch to film, where she’s recently been accredited as a composer for Japanese film “Japanese Girls from the harbour.” But it’s when Lena is at the decks where she’s at her most impressive, Her unforeseeable selections pool obscure proto-techno, jacking spirits, industrial boogie, synthesized disco, raw house and other irrational rhythms, and it’s taken her to venues like the Golden Pudel, Corsica Studios and Panorama Bar.

Ben UFO heads up the Hessle Audio crew alongside Pearson Sound and Pangea, bringing the more adventurous side of UK’s club music to an international audience. He brings an esoteric diversity to Hessle that touches on anything from Disco to Techno and back to his Roots in Dubstep and UK bass music. He remains one of the few DJs in the UK to have made an impact without a production career to fall back on, and as such his reputation is solely the result of his skill as a selector and as a mixer. As a result he remains in a position to fully explore sounds both old and new, across the worlds of house and garage, dubstep and grime, and further into the past. This level of commitment to the dance music of the last two decades has led to a collection of records which reflects the position London has long held as a city responsible for the constant development of forward thinking music.

G-Ha and Olanskii play in support of Ben and Lena, while Oskar Pask, Celius and Ricky Late keep it koselig in our lounge.
