Although we cannot control what happens to us, we can control our mental response. By learning to relate to uncertainty in a different way, we can come to be an island in the stormy seas of busy modern life.

When negative thoughts and feelings are weighing you down, meditation can help to lift the burden by making the mind calm and still. From that experience of inner peace, we can learn to cultivate an inner strength and stability.
