A night of contrasts ensues as Basic Channel and Hard Wax’ Mark Ernestus brings his NDagga Rhythm Force to take on the MC Kaman’s Nightflight.

Born within the cauldron of the beat, Africa Mark Ernestus’ NDagga Rhythm Force combines contrapuntal percussive arrangements with stark electronic atmospheres in an approach to the dance floor that goes beyond House and Techno to the intuitive depths of where it all began. Mark Ernestus, has had an incredible career which includes the seminal moments in Techno as one half of Basic Channel and proprietor of Hard Wax, and as NDagga Rhythm Force he has broken new ground with a group of Senegalese musicians. Percussive, raw and minimalist goes someway to describing their sound, but where nothing like this has ever approached, before theirs is a unique sound, which we look forward to introducing to Oslo in the live context and Ernestus playing our booth with a DJ set.

And while NDagga Rhythm Force is in our basement with Retro and kids love wax’s DJ Nuhhh in support, MC Kaman and Jan Sverre will be in our courtyard, catering to the more indulgent amongst you. Saturday at Jæger is for the lovers, the lovers of a good melody, an accessible beat and a bassline that goes right through to your feet. The godfather of Oslo’s disco scene, Jan Sverre samples the flavours of the past, from funk and disco to eighties pop and sets the tone for a night of easy fun with infectious hooks and pulsing riffs. Jan Sverre will take his listeners on an informed journey through the history of music, music that will strike a chord on some subconscious level with the tracks that did it first.
