Illustration Class at Blank Space

In this intensive 2-day course for intermediate skills, Martin M. Hvattum guides participants through the reality of working as an illustrator in Norway. This class will focus on coming up with strong concepts and communicating visually, as well as obtaining clients and setting up your contract.

Martin will walk you through how to solve a brief, – while balancing creating interesting work and satisfying the client, building ideas and communicate quickly and effectively – whether your final illustration will be anything from fine art to storyboards in advertisement and everything in between. This class is open to artists working in all styles and techniques.

This class is best meant for new students or artists in the starting phase of their career who are looking for an experienced teacher to take their illustrations to the next level – as well as tips for how to organize their plan to get a job in art and design.

Om Martin:

Martin is educated at the Academy of Art University, where he graduated with distinction. Today he is a freelance illustrator working from Oslo, where he works for a wide range of clients.
He also has experience as a teacher, and has taught at places such as The Academy of Art Univeristy, Blank Space and Einar Granum.
