Benjamin Finger (NO) + Mia Zabelka (AT) - Live in the UK -Worthing - Cellar Arts Club

[Bilde]

DisConcert presents an evening of experimental music and visuals:

Benjamin Finger (NO) Synthesisers, electronic devices and visuals.

“Benjamin Finger is a composer, electronic music producer, DJ, photographer and film-maker based in Oslo, Norway. Since his 2009 debut solo album “Woods of Broccoli”, he has produced a prolific output of films and music with a healthy disregard for genres.”

Benjamin´s sonic palette moves from psych-collages, droned out-jams, piano miniatures, classical minimalism, off-kilter pop, and an occasional stab at garbled dance music. A textural and emotionally resonant cocktail in a blurred, shimmering, and psychedelic world. His work has been reviewed/featured in The Wire, Tiny Mix Tapes, A Ransom Note, Impose Magazine, KEXP, Igloo Magazine, Textura and Exclaim! His albums have been released via How Is Annie Records, Time Released Sound (US), Digitalis Recordings (US), Watery Starve Press (US),Eilean Records (FR), Oak Editions (IT) Blue Tapes/X-Ray Records (UK), and recently Flaming Pines (AU). He has played support for such diverse acts as Sun Araw (US) Patten (UK), AU (US) Dave Harrington Group (US), Youth Lagoon (US) and Lydia Lunch (US). He is Norwegian.

Mia Zabelka (AU) E-Violin, electronic devices and alien objects.

“Mia Zabelka is an Austrian contemporary violinist, improviser, and composer of Czech, Jewish and French familiar background. Comprehensively educated in classical music from early age on she opened up the traditional understanding of the violin as solo and ensemble instrument towards improvisation, experimental music, and sound art.”

Lydia Lunch describes Mia Zabelka’s work as “visceral, cerebral and sensual. A gorgeous, haunting sound which employs classical interpretation and experimental improvisation to transcend musical genres, creating a sonic surround uniquely her own. She inhabits a sonic universe lush with soul cleansing vibrancy.”
