- Tim Andresen first began DJing in 1986, and has come a long way since. Driven by the moments of inspiration, he is one to follow his dreams through equal parts of talent and hard work – more than most people realise. Tim is an artist who enjoys the writing, production, engineering and arrangement of his own records. His recent production portfolio includes work for Re:FreshYourMind, Younan Music, Ready Mix Records and of course his own labels What Happens and Savoir Faire Musique. Perfecting his skills in the early days of his studio era, he also released on Toolroom and Southern Fried as half part of Professional Losers, dubbed “the next big Danish housers” by iDJ Magazine after personally being asked to remix for Fatboy Slim (the track entered at #1 on the UK Buzz Chart).

From a background of playing in his hometown in the late eighties to promoting highly successful parties in clubs and warehouses in the nineties and early 00s, he gained an enviable following. In 2001 he was offered to do his first ever CD compilation showcasing the sound of his FLOW nights at Store Vega in Copenhagen. In 2003 Ministry Of Sound asked him to mix and compile the 2xCD Sessions One for the Scandinavian market and by then he was already touring extensively. Music has now taken him to nearly 40 different countries across Europe, Asia and South America, and his sets at historical clubbing institutions including Space, Pacha, Privelegé, Eden, Ministry of Sound, Turnmills, The Egg and Fabric have seen him labeled “Denmark’s finest export”. Ridiculous, yes, but his consistent performances and true dedication to the scene somehow justifies the praise.
Since 2005, he has held an ongoing residency at Culture Box – described by Mixmag as “Copenhagen’s pioneering platform for cultivating electronic music”, and rated by Resident Advisor as “one of Europe’s best small clubs”. Tim’s countless DJ sets have played a key role in helping to secure the club its unique position, achieving worldwide recognition and 6 awards so far for Best Danish Club.

Tim’s musical talents have not gone unnoticed either, and resulted in him landing the “Best DJ” award at Club Awards, and “Most Popular Nordic DJ” by Megamind while also being nominated for Danish DJ Awards on 17 other occasions.
Tim has his fingers in many musical pies and he continues to stay at the very forefront of Scandinavian clubbing. He recently became new partner at Culture Box and now manages to juggle his busy schedule of DJ gigs and music productions with club and label activities. His tireless work behind the curtains is something that for him remains equally important and Tim says his love for music – more than anything else – is what drives him and keeps him motivated.
