Hand Lettering: An introduction to the craft

Hand Lettering: An introduction to the craft

This class is an introduction to the craft of hand lettering, led by Carl Fredrik Angell. It will teach you how to correctly draw/construct basic letterforms and show some of the useful tools of the trade. We will go through the three main lettering styles that lay the foundation for further development of stylized typography: Script, Roman and Plain Egyptian. This will give you a fundamental understanding of why letters are shaped the way they are, and how to correctly use lettering in your illustrations/designs.

About the teacher: Carl Fredrik, aka. “Frisso”, is an award winning graphic designer from Rykkinn, with a MA in Visual Communication from Kolding School of Design, Denmark. Everything is handmade and shows great skill and knowledge about typography.
