Simone Fezer
clouding
14.2.20-26.4.20
Vernissage: 14th of February – 7pm.

It is with great pleasure we present Simone Fezers brand new site-specific installation, clouding, made during a month long residency in S12.

In her work Fezer addresses the fragility and interdependency of all life and aims to create interdisciplinary and immersive environments. She often works together with other artists, bringing together installation, performance and multi-media, creating stages for the viewer to enter and explore.

For the exhibition at S12 she has been exploring the the nature surrounding Bergen wearing glass-covered boxes and frames over her head or on other parts of her body. She is exploring our relationship to structures and how they shape our view of the world, also talking about identity, looking out and looking in.

Photos and videos of these ventures are a part of the exhibition. They will be shown in the same frames, set within a larger structure made of live plants, growing from organic blown glass parts with textile appendixes, and the wooden planking of traditional Norwegian houses.

In addition, a looming fleshy cloud, interspersed with large, shiny and bright mirrored spheres, is resting overweight on the thin branches of shrubs in black plastic flower pots, slowly disappearing into the waves of a rising sea.

There will be live performance and light refreshments during the opening.
