2010 was Susanne Sundfør’s year. Not only did her sophomore album “The Brothel” receive great amounts of critical acclaim, but it also turned out to be the second bestselling release in Norway last year. Norwegian media claimed that this piano playing singer/ songwriter is so good that other artists will start to cry upon hearing her – both because she is several leagues above them, but also because her music is so moving and beautiful.

Sundfør’s music combines catchy pop melodies and electronic beats with gloomy ambience. All her songs manage to be vulnerable and tender, but at the same time remain powerful and violent. Combined with the sublime listening experience under the high vaulted arches in the majestic cathedral Nidarosdomen, this offers a rare musical experience.
