Spesial Nord kan karakteriseres som et visningsrom i magasin-format. Redaktører for magasinet er billedkunstnerne Christina Leithe Hansen(1978) og Iselin Linstad Hauge(1981).
Spesial Nord har hittil utkommet med to nummere, og utkommer med jevne, dog ikke faste, mellomrom. Publikasjonen presenterer unge samtidskunstnere fra de nordiske landene, og magasinet distribueres til bokhandlere og gallerier i Paris, London og Berlin, samt hele Norden.

Dette nummeret av Spesial Nord presenterer kunstnere som jobber innenfor sort/hvitt fotografi. Redaktørene har invitert kunstnere som i sitt fotografiske arbeid fanger opp tilsynelatende trivielle øyeblikk og sinnstilstander, og derved utforsker det underliggende via iscenesatte prosjekter eller snapshots. Med dette utvalget ønsker Spesial Nord å rette blikket mot den lavmælte poesien og dennes naturlige oppfordring til betrakteren om å skjerpe blikket,- se bakenfor sine egne omgivelser og erfaringer.

“Hidden Matter” – A Private Collection, består kun av plakater (tekstarbeid og foto). Ved utstillingen i Prosjektrommet vil alle plakatene monteres i utstillingslokalet. Dersom du kjøper utgivelsen har du samtidig kjøpt alle kunstverkene som er utstilt, og derved også anskaffet deg din egen samling. Du har faen meg kjøpt hele utstillingen.

I invitasjonsteksten fra Spesial Nord til de deltagende kunstnerne, oppfordres man til å bidra med poesi eller litterære notater, hvis man føler seg kallet.
Som kurator for Prosjektrommet føler jeg meg kallet, og får en Darwin-aktig tanke i hodet;
Kanskje man kan se kunsten som sin egen slekt,- nedarvet og utviklet gjennom årtusner. En egen livsform som snur det hele opp-ned, og heller bruker menneskesinnet som sin manifestasjon, selv om vi gjerne aldri ser det på den måten.

Spesial Nord is actually a gallery space in the form of a magazine. Christina Leithe Hansen(1978) and Iselin Linstad Hauge(1981), both artists, are the editors of the magazine. So far two issues of Spesial Nord has been released, it is published regularly with irregular intervals. The publication presents young contemporary artists from the Nordic region and the magazine is distributed to bookshops and galleries in Paris, London, Berlin and the Nordic countries.

This issue of Spesial Nord presents artist working with black and white photography.
The editors have invited artists who through their work capture seemingly mundane moments and states of mind, through staged settings or snapshots they explore the underlying. With this selection Spesial Nord wants to focus on the subtle poetry of these moments and their inherent appeal to the viewer, to sharpen one’s eyes, and look beyond one’s own environment and experiences.

“Hidden Matter”- A Private Collection, consists of posters (photography and text). All the posters will be exhibited in the gallery space of Prosjektrommet. Therefor, if you buy the issue# 3 of Spesial Nord, you buy all the works exhibited, and thus have acquired your own collection.
You actually bought the whole bloody show.

In the invitation from Spesial Nord the artists were also encouraged to contribute with poetry or literary notes, if they felt inspired.
As the curator of Prosjektrommet, I felt inspired and suddenly got this Darwinist thought; maybe one can view art as a next of kin, -inherited and developed through centuries. Like a peculiar life form that turns everything upside down, and manifests itself through the human mind, even though we never really quite view it that way.
