Academy Lectures: Lars Laumann

Lars Laumann was born in 1975, in Brønnøysund, Norway. He studied at Norwegian State Academy, Oslo, Norway (1995-2001) and the North Norwegian Art and Film School, Kabelvåg, Norway (1993-1995).

Recent solo exhibitions include: VI, VII, Oslo (2012); I Wanna Dance With Somebody, West, The Hague (2011); The Anti-Social Majority, Kunsthall Oslo, Oslo (2011); Kunsthalle Winterthur, Winterthur, Switzerland. (2010); Foxy Production, New York, USA; Maureen Paley, London, (2009); Morrissey Foretelling the Death of Diana, White Columns, New York, curated by Matthew Higgs. (2007). Selected group exhibitions including, Objects in Mirror Are Closer Than They Appear, Tate Modern Project Space, London, curated by Aleya Hamza (2012); The Royal Family, Free, New Museum, New York, (2010); Jeu de Paume, Paris, France, (2010) and Touched: Liverpool Biennial,
Liverpool, UK, (2010).

In his talk Lars Laumann will concentrate on two video works: Morrissey Fore- telling the Death of Diana (16 min) and Shut Up Child, This Ain’t Bingo (60 min.) The videos will be screened in their entirety. The talk and screening is in collaboration with VI, VII where Lars Laumann’s Finnissage will take place Sunday, 18 November 2-5pm.

The lecture will take place in Khio’s Main Auditorium in Fossveien 24, Oslo.
