The exhibition knock rock presents several new works by the danish artist Ditte Knus Tønnesen.

The photographic work, The Law Forbids Rich And Poor Alike To Sleep Under Bridges shows an abandoned building site at a resort area in Egypt. The artist has used the cameras technical difficulties of how to reproduce a linear perspective as a reference to the paradoxes in economic growth and downturn associated with tourism.

A plastic cast of a small walking stick with emblems rests on a well know danish design chair, the Safari Chair. The title Goslar, Kungälv, Aarhus, Kalø, Clausthal-zellerf., Himmelbjerget, Danmarks Akvariumindicated different locations, places normal to visit as a tourist. The chair is designed to travel with, as it is possible to take apart with only one simple move. Both objects function as illustrative references to well known trademarks and national ideals.

By using materials as large scale photographic prints, wooden structures, a plastic cast on a readymade chair, Ditte Knus Tønnesen presents a body of work that explors the intersections between the different material qualities, history and context.

The exhibition, knock rock is created in reference to mans desire to explore, conquer and capture the world and explores the associations between historical references and current political matters.
