About Art For All –

Those who are familiar with blankspace’s motives should not be surprised by their newest show, Art For All, as they take their mission objective, of bringing the otherwise exclusive art world to the general public, and puts it into a show of its own. In Art For All they are happy to feature 10 works from up to 15 artists located around the world – which totals to a possibility of 150 original works. These works will be printed from hi-res sources and sold as cheap as possible, ranging from 100-1,000 NOK, in an attempt to break down the class divide present in the art world today – you need not be rich or elite to appreciate art.

Works can be found of all styles, from animation to realistic, from surreal to cute and everything in between. Fans of artists such as Sterling Hundley (illustrator extraordinaire), Eda Kaban (with her adorable animated works), Jon Garaizar (surreal, contemporary lithographies), Jake Kobrin (trippy, color-filled collages) will be happy to find work to hang in their homes – and find new names to appreciate and collect. Size options will be available as well, varying from A6 to A1 so there will be no problem finding a piece, or arranging a piece, to fit the spot that is currently being occupied by a blank wall. Other names include: Andrew Mar, Paulina Suarez, Ben Jelter, Liz Ramsey, Tanner Griepentrog, Michał Dziekan, David Ball, Max Kostenko, BreeAnn Veenstra, Zachary Fleischer, Scott Waters, Mark Weber and Bård Henning Kvinen.

We welcome every person interested in art to attend the opening on December 20th from 18:00 – 21:00, as we expect these pieces not to last. Art should never have become something that average people cannot connect to, especially in an age filled with accessibility and linkage. We strive to help everyone appreciate art despite whatever background differences, financial challenges or interest diversifications the audience may have and will continue to do so in future shows to come.

About blankspace –

blankspace is an artist run facility that strives to fill the gaps present in the art world today, from artist to buyer as well as artwork to audience. They strive to open back up the transference of ideas from outsiders and strike down the exclusivity of art. While currently functioning primarily as a gallery that focuses on contemporary applications of traditional skills, they also offer workshops and classes to anyone, beginner or master, wanting to understand the craft better. In the future, they hope to expand to offer a full printing / painting studio to the public, as well as offer full-time courses in various fields of art. They will host discussions, lectures, and special exhibits from special artists across the world.

They are located 5 minutes from Oslo S by bus, in the up and coming district of Kværnerbyen.
