Ethopoeia plexi cube presents display #1:

Cosmical Change (Sognsvann)

To start off, Inga Sund Hofset has invited Maria Belic (SE), to engage with or relate to the landscapes at Sognsvann.

Sognsvann is a well known and popular area among Oslo’s residents. It is a recreation zone, a place to settle, a place to meet up for informal intimacies.

Please join us for the opening, Sunday June 15th, at 14.00 (2 PM). The cube will be placed on the north-east side of the lake. Refreshments will be served.

Welcome.

!!!

Follow the road on the left side almost to the top of the lake. You will find us at the second pier.

Cosmical Change (Sognsvann)

When the courtship doesn’t work, the crisis, the healing.

Either you constantly have to cross, or your contours are being crossed.
The feeling you can’t define it. The silence around it. Silence decided by others.
An imaginary pressure. A pressure to envisage. Binding victims to healing.

I asked women who use their access to the spirit world to take
leadership roles. Achieve reverse possibility and trust uncertified
impossible futures. Techniques for altering consciousness.
There is a lot of belief in the kindness we envisage, but
no decision is innocent. Signs of having tried to remain strong for too long.
Make it into a desert, and it happens. Luck seems connected to solidarity.

Once the thread is placed, the cosmical change will happen as soon as
the thread is broken in any manner and at any point.

You could also try breathing in squares.

Ethopoeia plexi cube is a dynamic collaborative and a portable gallery, a pop-up project space initiated to create a dialogue between the involved objects, subjects and their surroundings.

Ethopoeia is a notion in classical rhetoric, meaning putting oneself in the place of another so as to both understand and express her or his feelings more vividly.

In his lecture on The Hermeneutics of the Subject, Foucault encouraged a process which he called "transsubjectivation». He “conceived [it] as a journey within oneself… the product of a transformation.” Foucault used the word ethopoiein from the Greek word ethos to describe the transformation. “Ethopoiein”, says Foucault, "means making ethos, producing ethos, changing, transforming ethos, the individual’s way of being, his mode of existence”

Ethopoeia plexi cube is a physical, yet transparent container (110 × 52 × 69 cm), that will center on collaborations between the participating artists. Each exhibition will introduce a new artist as a collaborative partner.

Ethopoeia plexi cube is founded and run by Inga Sund Hofset (NO).
