Berlin based Motimaru Dance Company will lead participants in exploring an innovative body-mind-space method to create an authentic dance language. The workshop is open for anyone and does not require any experience.

Motimaru is a butoh dance company created in Tokyo by dancers Motoya Kondo and Tiziana Longo and trained at the Kazuo Ohno Dance Studio. They both studied and worked for five years with
Yoshito Ohno, who himself follows the footsteps of the two founders of butoh: Tatsumi Hijikata and Kazuo Ohno. Motimaru aims to grasp the essence of butoh and also to find intersections between the West and the East, the ancient and the modern in a continuous line across cultures rooted in nature.
