Biodegradable Urn Workshop

Have you ever thought about what kind of container you would like to be stored in after your body expires?
The ash-urn making tradition has a long and worldwide history and the sky is the limit.
Nowadays humanity is facing scarcity of space and plenty of waste. This is something we could reduce by breaking social taboo’s and doing some wise planning.
.
Focusing on graveyard related artists and ultimate issues, Galleri Gravsted would like to invite you to take part in a ceramic workshop that will allow you to design and make your ‘last container’ from recycled clay. Participants are welcome to bring biodegradable, organic items that will be possible to incorporate in their vessels (dry plants, hay, sand, tiny stones, shells, natural textiles, sawdust, etc.). The works will remain unfired but participants will be allowed to take them home.
.
The workshop will be run by donation and will take place at ‘Gallery Gravsted’ during the exhibition of Johanne Getz’s paintings.
