Sigmatibet (AKA Paolo Gozzetti)

Producer and an influential musician that debuted in 1991. He contributed massively to the Italian techno and rave scene in the nineties. Paralleled with studio recordings, live sets have always been integral to the artist, who ranges in style from club, progressive techno and trance to a blend that spans deep house to breakbeat.
Sigmatibet’s early influence was from Acid House and Detroit Techno. He first signed to independent label “Evolution Records” in 1991. With this label he delivered a large number of mixes and EPs. Between 1995 and 2008 Sigmatibet joined forces with Michele Castellani and signed to EMI, where they reached an International status with a number of EPs. The debut album “Chills” was released October 2001 on CX/ EMI. During these years Sigmatibet collaborated with a number of major Italian pop acts.
The second album, title “Different world” was mastered in London by Mike Marsh and released in 2004 by CX/EMI Italy. The album was definitely a step away from the previous album, though not a complete departure. Since then, Sigmatibet left EMI and cooperated with Machine Jockey (which joined RNC Music) and they digitally re-launched both albums while also working on new projects. With Machine Jockey, Sigmatibet worked on new productions, with his distinctive touch of hypnotic beat and psychedelic landscapes. In 2014 Sigmatibet founded his own Label, FLTR, to publish his own music and discover new talents. “Based in the Navigli Area, FLTRs aim is to discover new and uncompromising sounds from the italian electronic scene.”

Center of the Universe

Inspired by folk music and rhythmic excesses from all over the world the Center of the Universe made his first recordings in 2000. The group, which admittedly is not a band, but rather Jørgen Skjulstads (Now we’ve got members, Salvatore) solo project, combines heavy bass, odd meters and various exotic elements with a lo-fi approach in his recording methods.
Center of the Universe has been active in the Norwegian underground music scene since 1998 and has in addition to participating in several other projects, found the time to release a whole host of solo albums, including a trilogy where the theme was space and time. It is difficult to give a clear definition of the band’s musical impression, as this tends to change from release to release, but it would not be wrong to say that melody is always at the center. What apparently may begin as a pop song entice you into a world where nothing is as it seems and musical expectations are seldom met. For the Center of the Universe no surna is too high and no bass too deep. He has always walked off the beaten path next to the road less travelled and keeps trudging on in a landscape where the sun shines, vulcanoes erupt and it’s raining guitars, sitars and just plain’ol tars.
