Finissage "Desert Garden", Salong #3 "Uprooting" med Vincent Manzanilla.

Uprooting 14 Mars 2015, 14:00 Vincent Manzanilla

For the third Salon, BOA Gallery is inviting Vincent Manzanilla in the context of Hanan Benammar’s exhibition Desert Garden.

Fascinated by plant genetics, evolution and ethnobotany. Vincent considers medicinal plants as the perfect bridge between evolutionary biology and his own personal interests. Following the path of a rich ethnobotanical tradition, he has traveled in numerous countries in order to collect and study plants in their cultural environment.
Vincent is interested in the erosion of traditional knowledge and the decline of wild populations of medicinal plants. Currently his research is focused on the conservation and the documentation of the traditional medicine in southern Morocco.

The research leading to these results has received funding from the People Programme (Marie Curie Actions) of the European Union’s Seventh Framework Programme FP7/2007-2013/ under REA grant agreement n°606895.

At the occasion of “Salon 3: Uprooting”, Desert Garden will be accompanied by new materials related to Vincent Manzanilla’s practice, marking the last weekend of the exhibition.

The discussion will be held in English. Snacks and drinks will be served.
Welcome!
