WORK IN PROGRESS - NBF Oslo Open - exhibition and concerts

Norsk Billedhogger Forening is glad to invite you to a satellite program of Oslo Open happening the 18th and 19th of April.

At the occasion of the yearly festival Oslo Open, NBF is
opening its door with a Café open during the whole period of the event, an exhibition, a performance and two concerts on Sunday starting at 4 pm.

For the exhibition, NBF has specifically invited artists that don’t have an atelier space, under the title of WORK IN PROGRESS.

Program

CONCERT

- Espen Lomsdalen

Espen Lomsdalen works with painting, sound and drawings. He will have an electronic noise performance on Sunday, 6 pm.

- Feilkontroll

Feilkontroll is an experimental music band, performed by Torbjørn P. Larssen, Ole- Petter Aarnes Arneberg, Torunn Avelsgaard Lien and Hanan Benammar. Concert on Sunday, 6 pm.

EXHIBITION:

- Mattias Cantzler

Mattias Cantzler (b. 1976, Sweden) works with mixed medias, but especially with analogue film and photography (Super 8 and 16mm). His works are often experimental and site specific. In the last years, Cantzler has been occupied by environmental and climate issues.
He recently had solo exhibitions at Galleri Konstepidemin in Gothenburg, Ibsen Huset in Skien and at Prosjektrom Carl Berner in Oslo. His next solo show will take place at Galleri 54 in Gothenburg (Sep-Oct 2015).

During Oslo Open, Cantzler will show 100KM/H KONST. The piece is in work in progress. There are material from an experimental film that was shot in the Aral Sea area (Karakalpakistan in the northwest of Uzbekistan). The project focus on a man-made ecological disaster, which might be one of the biggest failure in human history.

- Mimmi Mattila

Mimmi Mattila (b.Helsinki, 1987) graduated from her MFA studies at the Academy of Fine Art in Oslo in 2014. Latest activities include the group shows Young.Promising at F15 in Moss in 2014 and Maskinen Art Boat on the Wasaline ferry between Umeå, Sweden and Vaasa, Finland and the solo shows Linguistic Interference at Podium, Oslo in 2014 and This feels eternal now but the moment is fleeing at One Night Only in 2015.

During Oslo Open she will show a composition of fragments of her latest work under the title Sensu Amplissimo.

- Garry Williams

Garry Williams (b. 1975, Scotland) works with performance installations from reconstructed situations and places.

He will have an ongoing performance throughout the weekend, under the title Bloodlines

- Sara Christensen

Sara Christensen (b. 1979, Denmark) works with a variety of media. Christensen attempts to question the universal and existential through the familiar.

- Sigbjørn Dyrøy (b. 1969, Norway) works with wooden sculptures. In his work, Dyrøy experiment with space and materiality, producing minimal shapes and objects.

True Solvang Vevatne (b. 1978, Norway) works with installations and sculptures. Her work is based on everyday stories, historical archives and private memory archives.
