Julie Lillelien Porter (b.1975, Plymouth, England) studied at The Glasgow School of Art and The National Academy of Arts in Bergen. The De-Aligned Body uses elements from labanotation (dance) to examine sculptural qualities different from classical ideas about movement and the corporeal. She is interested in connections between mentality and spaciality and the exhibition refers to her personal body of work. Julie’s work has been shown, amongst other places, at Bomuldsfabriken Kunsthall, Kreuzberg Pavillon, Glasgow Project Room, Lydgalleriet, House of Foundation, Bergen Kunsthall and in various self-organized platforms.
