Wet Plate Collodion Workshop

[Bilde]

Ambrotypes and tintypes are positive wet-collodion images on glass and metal plates. They are currently the hottest alternative processes used in fine art photography today. In this intensive two-day workshop, participants will be guided through the basics of making these unique positive wet-collodion images by Mathias Skaset, Norway’s likely only teaching photographer on the subject.
The opportunity to make real ambrotypes, tintypes, and use original 19th century cameras and lenses makes this workshop a particularly fulfilling experience.

The class will include an illustrated lecture with an introduction to the history, theory and performance of the technique. Each participant will learn how to float, expose and develope their own pictures which they can bring home at the end of the weekend. They will also receive a copy of the Mathias Skaset basic collodion manual containing all formulas, instructions, and sources of supply. They will also gain access to an online wet plate community for future help and support.

The class will be held in Norwegian/English if needed.
