Jennifer Cardini and Lena Willikens’ touring events collective, NIKOTIN comes to Oslo to go head to head with MC Kaman’s Nightflight.

Jennifer Cardini first made a name for herself during minimal Techno’s dominance in which she found an amiable sound palette amongst the immersive grooves and stripped back drum patterns of the genre. Her sets were marked for their downtempo cinematic conjecture, finding admiration amongst those at Kompakt, with the legendary label producing her seminal mix CD ‘Feeling Strange’ – a testament to her ability to stay on the pulse of contemporary dance music while forging he own unique path. Her exquisite sets would find her a residency at Rex Club and if that didn’t show Cardini honing in on a notably sophisticated approach, it was her weekday slot at avant-garde spot Le Pulp that brought her ability to ignite any party to the fore; presenting experimental Techno, narcotic acid cuts, and saturated nu-disco with an energy that has made her an icon in electronic music culture.

Lena Wliikens has been the long-standing resident in charge of Friday nights at Düsseldorf’s legendary club/bar Salon Des Amateurs. She’s been a card carrying member of Cómeme records, with her “Sentimental Flashback” radio show on the label’s radio channel, known for her impressive musical tastes and avant-garde selections. Lena is never committed to one style, all is welcome as long as it is twisted the in a one-of-a-kind way. As a producer she’s released on Cómeme and Slowboy records, and her talents even stretch to film, where she’s recently been accredited as a composer for Japanese film “Japanese Girls from the harbour.” But it’s when Lena is at the decks where she’s at her most impressive, Her unforeseeable selections pool obscure proto-techno, jacking spirits, industrial boogie, synthesized disco, raw house and other irrational rhythms, and it’s taken her to venues like the Golden Pudel, Corsica Studios and Panorama Bar.

Together Lena and Jennifer are Nikotin and we’ve given them the keys to our basement, while upstairs MC Kaman provides the pop and Jan Sverre soothes the soul.
