Møt kunstnerne!

Desire Lines er et nytt initiativ for uavhengig utøvende kunstere, og fem internasjonale kunstnere deltar i vårt Artist-in-Residence-Program. Kunstnerne spesialiserer seg alle i å skape stedsavhengig og forgjengelig kunst i det offentlige rom. De vil vise oss hvordan de ved deres inngripen forandrer vår opplevelse av det offentlige rom gjennom å skape kunst i størrelsesforhold som tilbyr et alternativ til den utbredte bruken av ressurskrevende veggmaleri i stor skala. Prosjektet beveger seg nært inntil paradigmer som nedvekst, delingsøkonomi, adgang og rett til byen, samt eierskapet til våre felles kulturminner. Ved å la midlertidige kunstverk ta plassen fra monolittiske skulpturer, og i prosessen peke på nye muligheter for mangfoldet av uttrykk i våre felles offentlige rom i Oslo.

Meet the artists participating in Desire Lines week-long residency as they present their work to the public.

Desire Lines Artists-in-Residence Program is a new ´freedom of the city´ initiative for independent public artists. For one week five international artists who specialize in producing site-specific and ephemeral public artworks will demonstrate how human-scale, intervention-based street art practice can offer an alternative to the predominant form of large-scale, resource-heavy muralism. Touching upon the paradigms of degrowth, sharing economy, rights to the city and intangible heritage, temporary artworks will replace monolithic public art sculptures, and in the process point to new potentialities for the diversity of expression in our shared public spaces in Oslo.
