The first prøverommet of the season presents two projects at the well known and loved USF Verftet. Both are new collaborations but they are entirely different in content and form. The event begins in the black box space Studio USF with a theatre piece called ‘Fremkalling’, a collaboration between Kristine Brusdal, Vera Lunde and Amalie Mikkelsen Vere. Then the audience will be invited outside to experience a brand new experiment in sound, sculpture and performance by the current Artists in Residence at USF: Fabian Lanzmaier and Monroe Isenberg.

A 45-minute theatre piece written and performed by Kristine Brusdal, performed with Amalie Mikkelsen Vere with photographic scenography by Vera Lunde:

“When different perceptions of reality collide, how do we decide what is real?
Two sisters reunite after many years apart. Different perceptions of the past makes it hard for them to reconcile. Are boundaries crossed over in an unforgivable way, or was it just innocent children’s games?”

Note: This performance is in Norwegian. A rough translation of the script in English will be provided for those who need.

Trigger warning: This performance contains talk of sexual assault. This performance is not recommended for an audience under the age of 16.

Monroe Isenberg and Fabian Lanzmaier

“When we hear the ocean’s music, what do we feel? How can developing a shared musical language dissolve boundaries between a human and non-human world?”

Responding to these questions, Fabian Lanzmaier and Monroe Isenberg are collaboratively creating devices from found materials that sonically respond to the ocean’s movement. The artists believe that their instruments facilitate musical communication with a voiceless world.

Through sculptural and sonic play, the artists will engage performance and process to construct a device that engages these questions and invites the audience to participate in the works activation.

Note: A part of this experiment will take place outside. Please dress appropriately!
