Stavanger-based dance artist Maja Freiberg presents a solo performance with the working title ‘Jag vill inte vara hård’ (‘I don’t want to be hard’), using dance and textiles, while the Bergen-based artist Su Liao presents a poetic investigation into the theme of ‘broken’, involving glass sculpture and a faulty printer.

The curator of – p a l m e r a – Tatiana Lozano will host a feedback session as part of the event and there will be tea. Make sure to book a free place to experience these exquisite projects!

More about the artists…

Maja Freiberg is a dance artist based in Stavanger. “In my work I am interested in tenderness and care, which I explore through the meeting of dance and textile work. Whether it is through slow movements or time consuming hand stitching, I am always attracted to the idea of extending time. In ‘Jag vill inte vara hård’ I work with subtle and cautious movements to remove hard edges.”

Su Liao is currently studying her MA in Fine Art in Bergen. She described herself as “always attracted by the little happenings in daily life… I found myself going in a circle, repeatedly lost. But it becomes a part of me, my thoughts, my works, my life, and it is painful as it is amazing”. Su will be presenting a project around the poetics of mending a broken heart.
