Led by singer/songwriter and Texas-native Ben Atkins, the group combines influences from blues, country, soul, jazz, ranchera (Mexico), folk, R&B, hip-hop, gospel, and rock to wow audiences with a show unlike anything else in town. The new Trønder band line-up features Trude Heggstad on keyboard, Aasmund Sivertsen slappin’ the bass, and Eirik Fagerslett on drums.
The songwriting is anecdotal and ranges from lighthearted comedy to existential heartbreak, with lyrics that seek to connect with the listener through universal experiences like love, loneliness, financial instability, and the basic human desire to have a good time. The ATR’s performances bring these stories to life in a poetic confessional led by Atkins’ nuclear vocals.
