Rethinking Relations: Conversations with ROBUST Degrowth Collective

[Bilde]

Do you know someone who feels lonely? Do you strongly love a friend? Does society’s types of relationships fit you?

The capitalistic system drives unequal power relations between genders, gendered stereotypes and division of (care) work. Modern love – one that stretches beyond patriarchal and neoliberal individualistic relationships, can be a conscious and creative process. Where commitment and care is not limited to one partner and the ‘nuclear family’, but enlarged to expanded ‘circles of care’. As late stage imperial capitalism will continue to push further chaos, relationships are what is going to keep us sane and healthy and happy.

After a welcoming and ‘landing together’, we will read the (yet to be released) book-chapter: “Just friends: Intimate relations in a degrowth future” by Nora Krenmayr, Monika Austaller and Luzia Strasser, then we together explore thoughts and ideas.
