Kanavaipalayam Srinivasan Rajendran is Professor for Classical Indian Drama at the National School of Drama in New Delhi. He is the editor of ‘Theatre India’, the National School of Drama’s theatre journal, and he is a successful and acknowledged theatre director. On his latest productions see:

K. S. Rajendran will give us a first-hand introduction into the world of Indian theatre, both as an expert in Indian theories of theatre and aesthetics, and as a theatre practitioner. He will supplement his presentations with DVD records of his workings.
K. S. Rajendran’s visit is the first step towards developing an international infrastructure for studies of South Asian performance traditions. The studies will be associated with the IKOS theatre sciences project “Performing the sacred”; and there will be projects – involving students of Hindi – together with the National School of Drama in New Delhi and the Institute of Folklore Studies at Garhwal University (Indian Himalayas).
