Norwegian Association of Art Societies has developed an exchange program between Norway and China with Norway-China Culture Exchange Center as a co-ordinator.

The main goals and purposes of the project is to promote cultural exchange and understanding between Norway and China, and to contribute to establish art societies throughout China.

The seminar “ArtEduChina in Norway 2007” is a part of this exchange program and is focusing on the development of Chinese Art.

The global demand for Chinese contemporary art has exploded the last two years.
Collectors see it as a good investment, dovetailing the rise of China`s economy.

Everybody seems to be looking towards China these days, so does Norway. Norwegian Art Societies is happy to be a part of this venture.

10:00 – 11:15: “The History and Development of the Chinese Artists Association”. Wu Changjiang, administrative vice
chairman of the Chinese Artists Association, professor of Central Academy of Fine Arts, and print artist.

11:15 – 12:30: ”Chinese Oil Painting.” Shao Dazhen, professor of Central Academy of Fine Arts, doctoral supervisor,
editor-in-chief of “Arts Research “ and “ World Arts “, director of the Theory Committee of the Chinese
Artists Association, nominated professor of the Russia Rapin Art College.

12:30 – 13:30: Lunch

13:30 – 14:45: “Chinese Painting: its tradition and its development into contemporary art”. Wang Yong, researcher of the
Institute of Fine Arts, doctoral supervisor, board member of Chinese Artists Association.

14:45 – 16:00: “Chinese Contemporary Sculpture: a mixture of Tradition and Innovation”. Ding Ning,
vice-president of Artistic Institute of Peking University, professor, doctoral supervisor, board member
Chinese Artists Association, general secretary of the theory committee of the Chinese Artists Association.

16:00 – 16:30: Summary
