Åpent Forum presenterer: Alejandra Salinas and Aeron Bergman (Spain and USA)

The artists have lived and worked in Detroit, Toronto, New
York , London, Barcelona, Göteborg, and are currently
based in Oslo where Bergman has just been appointed
professor of Digital Art: Sound/Installation at
Kunstakademiet in Oslo
. They work in the intermedia tradition:
combining animation, sound, installation, drawing,
documentary, typography, design, traditional and urban
folklore they construct a delicate aesthetic with subtle
political threads.

Their installation work has been shown in solo and group
shows at the ICC in Tokyo, Centre d’art Contemporain in
Geneva, the Fundacao Serralves in Porto, the CCCB, the
Centre d’Art Santa Mònica in Barcelona and the Taipei Fine
Arts Museum.

They have done performances around the world, in places
such us the Museum of Modern Art in Luxemburg, the Palais
de Tokio in Paris, the Ex Teresa Museum of Contemporary
Art in Mexico, the de Appel Institute for Contemporary Art
in Amsterdam and the Lampo Foundation in Chicago.

They have published over 15 solo audio works on audio
imprints such us Kning Disk, Tomlab, Fatcat, Bottrop Boy,
Orthlong Musork and Softl Musik.

Audio works and interviews with the artists have been
broadcasted on radio stations worldwide such as the BBC,
CBC (Canadian Public Radio), Südwestrundfunk (German
Public Radio), Radio Nacional de España, Resonance FM
London, WFMU New York, Taipei Philharmonic Radio. Their
sound installation work earned honors such us the Award of
Distinction for Digital Music from the Prix Ars
Electronica in Austria.

In addition, the pair founded the Lucky Kitchen sound and
media platform in 1997, and since then they have relesed
over 30 cd and vinyl works, online projects and text works
by both young and established artists such as Stephan
Mathieu, Steven Vitiello, Goodiepal, Liz Payne, Toshiya
Tsunoda and many more.

Åpent Forum er en serie med forelesninger, presentasjoner og samtaler med kunstnere initiert av Kunstakademiet i Oslo. Åpent Forum finner normalt sted hver mandag kl 19.00 i auditoriet i St. Olavsgt. 32, og er åpent for alle som er interessert, også utenfor Kunstakademiet.
