The Peacocks (SWI)

The Peacocks kommer fra Sveits, de har holdt på i drøyt 15 år og de siste tre årene har gruppa spilt over 400 konserter. Det gjør noe med et band; det blir dødelig samspilt. Hvis de i tillegg har det moro og kjemien stemmer på alle måter, og alle får utløp for følelser og ideer, resulterer det, med litt flaks, også i fine låter. The Peacocks er et lysende eksempel. De har turnert Europa, USA, Canada og Japan, delt scener med Bad Religion, No Means No og Rancid, for å nevne tre, og nå er de her med sitt niende fulltidsalbum.

”Touch And Go” er stappet med knall punkete rockabilly. Gruppa består av Jürg Luder, trommer og brødrene Hasu og Simon Langhard på henholdsvis gitar/vokal og ståbass. Hasu har benyttet studioets muligheter og lagt på både to og tre gitarer. Lydbildet er likevel oversiktelig, det er velprodusert og plata treffer lytteren midt i rockerota. Drittøff slapbass og stødig tromming, øs-pøs gitar, bra vokal og fine låter. Blir spennende å se om de klarer å gjennskape dette på Elm Street i Oslo den 2. desember.

The Peacocks, from Switzerland, are great at
what they do. They’re cool. They look good.
And they love what they do (well, almost
always). They rock and roll, struggle and
suffer, laugh and cry. They’re on the run and
on the road. They’ve been around the globe a
couple of times through Austria, Belgium,
Denmark, Germany, France, Finland, Italy,
Norway, Sweden, Holland, Spain, Slovenia,
Hungary, UK and the Czech Republic, USA,
Canada and Japan. Playing over 400 shows in
the last three years.
The Peacocks have sold thousands of albums
in their 16 year career on their European label,
Leech Records, Household Name Records,
Crazy Love and Elmo Records; Asian Man
Records, Jump Up and Hairball 8 Records in
North America; and TV Freak in Japan.
They’ve kicked everybody’s ass from Bad
Religion, No Means No, Rancid, No FX,
Toasters, Demented Are Go…But they’re still
hungry (even though their backs hurt’ cause
floors suck to sleep on). So, after consuming
too much coffee and cigarettes, they continue
to tour like crazy and win over hearts
everywhere with thier explosive stand up bass
driving sound. Punk, Rockabilly, great songs,
cool beats, pop but good.They’re moving on
and up. Probably one day with nice shirts. And
with a new old van. Pedal to the metal!
