The South – North Exchange
This exhibition is a unique opportunity to see an outstanding selection of works by established and young artists from two very opposite parts of the world, Northern Norway and Australia. All artists have kindly donated their work with all the proceeds from the sale of works going towards the establishment of a unique cross-cultural exchange program for young artists and musicians from Indigenous communities in Australia and Norway.

Every summer in the far north of Norway, a unique festival called Riddu Riddu is held to celebrate the music and culture of indigenous people from around the world. The funds raised from this exhibition will be used to offer one young indigenous Australian musician or artist with the chance to embark on the journey to Riddu Riddu in 2010 – a journey that is much greater than the physical distance itself – to share and celebrate the rich knowledge, beauty and diversity of their culture with indigenous peoples from other parts of the world.

Youth Challenge Australia, (youthchallenge.org.au), a non-profit, non-religious organisation that actively engages Australian volunteers in grass roots development work, is the key facilitator of this exchange together with artist Yenny Huber.
