BEWARE, this night will involve the uniqe experience of a real reggae SOUND SYSTEM: the system that will greet our ears and bodies this night, is custom made for bass-heavy reggae, and is brought to us by MEDITATIVE SOUNDS. By actually bringing their massive sound system, Meditative Sounds are making a real Sound System Experience possible, showcasing both UK’s Channel One and their own Meditation….BIG UP!! This may redefine your concept of a reggae sound.. get prepared for a brutal inspiration and healing!
CHANNEL ONE SOUND SYSTEM have made people dance, feel and love since 1979 and still going very strong at UK’s hyperactive roots&dub scene, and they still perform every Notting Hill Festival where they are legends. They have a solid base of followers in UK as well as rest of the world – expect heavy roots, UK sound system style!
MEDITATIVE SOUNDS are Swedens leading Roots & Dub Sound System, and based in Uppsala. Meditative is a very well respected sound and have worked with Channel One and others on earlier ocations. (check wicked session clips at their webpage!) Meditative have also performed at bergen reggae festival a couple of years ago, as well as at the long standing “Reggae Regular” club at john dee a good 10 years ago. those of us who was there remember a different exerience on a strong sound…but that was a young meditative sound at a small club 10 years ago so up your expectations!
Since i witnessed the power of REAL sound system culture in London last year, represented by the Aba-Shanti-I and Channel One sound systems, i have worked hard to bring this experience to oslo. With Channel One’s positive vibrations and a great help from Meditative Sounds and Bergen Reggae Festival / Cushion crew, we are now able to show you the deeper side of roots & dub culture.
