Siste del av seminaret/forelesningsrekken ”On Correspondence” om forhold mellom scenekunst, samtidskunst, arkitektur og filosofi presenterer et foredrag av Tony Chakar, arkitekt og skribent fra Beirut og et foredrag av Eyal Weizman, arkitekt og leder av Centre for Research Architecture ved Goldsmiths College i London. Etter de to foredragene blir det en lengre samtale mellom de.

The Eighth Day God Created the World in Seven Days. This Is the Eighth Day

The Eighth Day" is an ongoing investigation, currently taking the form of a lecture-performance series, that began in the aftermath of the Israeli attacks on Lebanon in July 2006, however not directly related to these attacks. During and after the Israeli military operation, images from Lebanon’s recent past (the civil wars of 1975-1990) inundated public realms (space and psyche) as well as discourse – becoming, at times, very difficult to endure –, proving that the Lebanese wars (regarded as Catastrophic) are still cast in the unspoken. 
The Eighth day weaves a collection of elements – texts, images, songs, videos, publicity spots, etc.- that are metaphorical manifestations of the space and time of the Catastrophe, and attempts to identify the necessary strategies for redeeming the past-as-image.

The Eighth Day (2008): et pågående prosjekt I form av en lecture/performance. Tony Chakar har skrevet artikler til en rekke kunstmagasiner og underviser i arkitekturhistorie og kunsthistorie ved Académie Libanaise des Beaux arts (ALBA).

Eyal Weizman er arkitekt med base i London. Han studerte arkitektur ved Architectural Association i London og har en PhD fra London Consortium, Birkbeck College. Han er leder for Centre for Research Architecture ved Goldsmiths College Siden 2007 er han medlem av arkitekturkollektivet decolonizing architecture i Beit Sahour/Palestine. Siden 2008 er han medlem av B’Tselem board of directors.

Weizman har undervist, holdt foredrag, kuratert og organisert konferanser ved en rekke institusjoner. Hans bøker inkluderer The Lesser Evil [Nottetempo, 2009], Hollow Land [Verso Books, 2007], A Civilian Occupation [Verso Books, 2003], serien Territories 1,2 og 3, Yellow Rhythms og han har publisert en rekke artikler i tidsskrifter, magasiner og bokutgivelser. Han er med i editorial board i flere tidskrifter og magasiner. Han mottok James Stirling Memorial Lecture Prize for 2006-2007.
