Amber Rubarth (US) + Jim Bianco (US)

After winning 1st place in the International Songwriting Contest (judged by Tom Waits), touring Europe 5 times, garnering widespread praise, and boasting over a million and a half listeners on MySpace, Amber Rubarth is poised to conquer the world of folk pop with her wide-eyed, optimistic songs.’ – CDBaby.

At 17 years old, Amber moved to Nevada to become a chainsaw sculptor. Three years later she decided to pursue her number one passion, trading her chainsaw for a guitar. She began touring and immediately people took notice of her unique approach of sculpting stories through song, working her way around and chipping away until the truest form inside beamed to life. Her fan-funded album GOOD MYSTERY has attracted widespread praise since its sold out release at New York City’s legendary theater, Joe’s Pub, where it immediately hit 1 on the charts at Amie Street and remained for the following two weeks. Her distinctive blend of nuanced indie folk nabbed her a feature spot on The Huffington Post, a Sun Studio session, and a much-chatted-about performance at SXSW ’09 (she shall return this year). NPR tastemaker Bob Boilen featured her on All Songs Considered, proclaiming that he was ‘attracted to her honesty and humor.’ The Boston Globe sums it up, saying ‘You will leave with a crush on her.’ In addition to her rigorous touring and recording schedule, Rubarth is also heavily involved in charity activities such as Musicians on Call.
