On the occation of Nigeria’s 50th birthday on the 1st of October, DJ’s Geir Svensson and Torkel Olsen will play almost exclusively “old school” music from the west african country, with some bits from neighbouring countries like Ghana and Benin.

This will be a night dedicated to the afrobeat of Fela Kuti, the funk of Segun Bucknor, and the highlife of the Oriental Brothers to name a few.

We have a special guest confirmed and it will be the veteran Mr. Lucky Iyepade from Nigeria, who started Bergens first reggaeclub in 76’ and kept it going into the 80’s. He’ll wipe dust of some of his old records and come by tonight to play some of his favorite tunes originating from his homecountry!
