AUTOLUX

Autolux er en trio fra Los Angeles som finplukker fra sekkebegrepet alternativ rock. Årets berusende singel “Supertoys” ender nok opp i katalogen over Evergreens om tredve år.

Tressene fant sammen i 2000, og har siden hostet opp EP-en “Demonstration”, 2001, den bejublede langspilleren “Future Perfect” i 2004, ett par singler, og andrealbumet “Transit Transit” (ATP/TBD) i år. Kanondebuten “Future Perfect” førte til supportjobb for the Secret Machine, og Nine Inch Nails inviterte bandet med på USA turnè i 2005.

Trent Reznor er langt fra den eneste kjendisen som på tross av rimelig forskjellig musikalsk ståsted har trykket Autolux til sitt bryst. På fanlista over berømmeligheter står Thom Yorke, PJ Harvey, the Coen Brothers og Flaming Lips.

Autolux er et tidløst band som vet å tilpasse seg uten kamelonfakter, “Future Perfect” tilbyr snacks fra 80- og 90-tallets indiscene med høylytt og mjuk skiftende dynamikk, gjørmete og forvrengte strenger og laidback vokal.

Seks år senere ser bandet fortsatt bakover på tidligere bragder, selv om “Transit Transit” er mer down-tempo og gir en overveldende sadoglede når komposisjonene blendes perfekt inn i en tåke av stuerein vokal, lag på lag med gitarer, grasiøs dans og marsjering på trommer. Mange av de tidligere influensene er bleknet, men naboskapet til shoegazerne My Bloody Valentine, the Paile Saints og the Swirls består.

GIANA FACTORY

Giana Factory is Loui Foo, Lisbet Fritze and Sofie Johanne. The girls record their music in an old factory building in Copenhagen, where they gave themselves the name Giana Factory in August 2008. After months of toiling in the studio and on the road, they are ready to let people into their world of dark and gloomy love. The first step in that process was to release their first EP, Bloody Game, which saw light October 12th. The girls mixed the EP with the notable electronic producer Thomas Barfod, with whom they have been working to create a balance between pop and avant-garde, male and female energy, the organic and the industrial, & the past and the future. In 2009 – before having any releases to their credit – Giana Factory toured Scandinavia, Germany and all around Denmark, playing shows at SPOT Festival and Roskilde Festival, as well as supporting Glasvegas on tour. They have received stellar reviews in the Danish press and have been noticed as one of the most promising new Danish acts of 2009.
