The Greatest Hunt of All, or the Metaphysical Impossibility of Reality in the Mind of Someone Living

Kjersti Vetterstad is educated at Bergen National Academy of the Arts, and at Konstfack University College of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm. Her artistic practice deals with the ways we as individuals are mediated by the entertainment industry and the mass medial image production, and how these images discipline us as subjects, and shape our conception of reality.

In the exhibition The Greatest Hunt of All, or the Metaphysical Impossibility of Reality in the Mind of Someone Living, John Huston’s film Moby Dick from 1956, based on Melville’s novel with the same title, is used as material, and as a starting point for a fiction that explores the concept of the Real.
