Ane Mette Hol will give a presentation of her most recent work. She will talk about her methods and investigations in the field of conceptual drawing.

“The relationship between original and reproduction is a recurring theme in the artistic practice of Ane Mette Hol. The paradox of putting so much effort in creating something that appears to be cheap, mass-produced objects triggers a reflection on the relationship between the original and representation, creativity and the artistic process. The representation is thus more than a passive imitation of an existing object. Representation in Ane Mette Hol’s art must be understood as an independent creative activity in which something new occurs in the meeting between artist, artwork and viewer. Also in the work After Day and Night (2010) the relationship between original/reproduction is at center. The work is based on a series of photos which during a period of 24 hours document a full day and night, the changing light and weather in the landscape outside of a window.” Eva-Belinda Leu, Oslo 2010.

After Day and Night is being shown in real time on the artists website: www.anemettehol.com
