The Nordic countries, and especially Norway, have seen a remarkable growth in net
worth over the past 10 – 20 years. At the same time, these countries are privileged by a
stable political situation, a strong government and public welfare. Still, the challenges
the Nordic countries face require new methods and collaborations, as they do in the rest
of the world. Furthermore, these countries are aware of the responsibilities towards the
less fortunate parts of the world.

More than half a century of development aid has proven that we need to rethink the
methods used for assisting development in the third world.

Awareness about these issues is growing. The remarkable results delivered by social
entrepreneurs inspire changemakers. The power of individuals and their ability to find
new and innovative solutions to some of societies’ most pressing challenges is clear.
That clarity can be expanded by partnering with all parts of our society.
